He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers- Malachi 4:6

The Lewis Family

The Lewis family is following God's call to serve in Panama, where we will help provide access to medical care, support, and helping children with special needs while also meeting the needs of the families living in poverty. After years of ministry and preparation, we are excited to officially move in April. Our focus will be on strengthening families, ensuring children receive the care they need, and walking alongside local communities to bring hope and healing. As we settle in, we look forward to building relationship, assessing needs, and serving however God leads.

Did you know?

Panama City thrives with modern infrastructure and a 10% poverty rate, but in rural areas, poverty exceeds 50%, with little access to education, healthcare, and basic needs. This gap highlights the urgent need to support vulnerable families and children in these underserved communities.

Helping Children and Families in Poverty

Significant Differences, But a Great Need Remains

Panama City: There is also a huge need for the Gospel in Panama City. As the melting pot of the Western Hemisphere, it brings together people from all over the world. While the city may not face the same poverty as other areas, its wealth and diversity create a spiritual need—people may not lack for material things, but they are just as lost and in need of Christ as the rest of the country.

Rural Areas: In the Rural Areas of Panama, many families face the challenges of poverty, which can lead to separation, lack of education, and limited access to basic needs like medical care. Children are often the most vulnerable, as financial struggles force families to make heartbreaking decisions that can disrupt their unity. By addressing these needs through support for schools, family care, and community development, we can help families stay together and give children the hope of a brighter future.
